Expand PowerEdge VRTX Blades cost-effectively & save data efficiently - with the DELL 900GB SAS HDD
Designed for continuous operation and long-term use, the robust HDD is a convincing fast and reliable storage solution. With 900GB storage capacity and a rotation speed of 10k, the compact HDD is ideal for data that needs to be accessed quickly. Due to its outstanding price-performance ratio, it is also affordable for SMEs and can even be bought in bulk as a cold spare backup - to prepare for "the worst case scenario".
The hard drive is compatible with the blade servers of the DELL PowerEdge VRTX series in combination with this frame (depending on the drive bays and RAID controller).
After a frame exchange (suitable HDD trays can be purchased here in the shop), the HDD can also be used in DELL PowerEdge servers such as the R310, R320, R410, R420, R510, R520, R610, R620, R710, R720, R810, R820, R900, R910, R920, T310, T320, T410, T420, T610, T620 or the T710 can be used.

Security adviceElectrostatic discharge (ESD):
Use an antistatic wrist strap or a grounded mat to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge.
Temperature protection and ventilation:
Ensure that the hard drive is operated in a well-ventilated housing to avoid overheating. Monitor the operating temperature regularly, especially in environments with several hard drives. Keep the operating temperature within the values specified by the manufacturer. Protect the hard drive from extreme temperatures and high humidity during storage or transport.
Cable management:
Lay the data and power cables so that they are not kinked, crushed or damaged. Check the connections regularly to ensure that they are tight.
Electrical safety:
Switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply before installing or removing a hard drive. Avoid contact with the connection points to prevent short circuits. Only connect the hard drive to the power and data connections provided by the manufacturer. Avoid contact with open or damaged cables.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Clean the area around the hard drive carefully to minimise dust deposits, but do not touch the hard drive directly with cleaning agents.
Assembly and disassembly:
Install the hard drive in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions to ensure error-free operation. Use suitable brackets or racks to securely mount the hard drive in the housing. Use only the recommended screws and fasteners to mount the hard drive securely in enclosures or racks. Excessive fastening can damage the enclosure.
Handling:
Handle hard drives carefully to avoid shocks or vibrations, as these can damage data storage. Avoid shocks, vibrations or dropping HDDs as mechanical components may be damaged. Avoid removing or inserting the hard drive during operation, unless it is designed for hot-swap operation.
Transport and storage:
Store hard drives in anti-static protective packaging when they are not in use. Transport the hard drive in shockproof packaging to protect the internal components.
Waste disposal:
Delete sensitive data by securely overwriting or physically destroying the hard drive before it is disposed of. Dispose of the hard drive in accordance with local regulations for electronic waste.
