Security adviceElectrostatic discharge (ESD):
Wear anti-static wristbands when handling sensitive devices to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge.
Temperature protection and ventilation:
Ensure sufficient ventilation in the rack to prevent the installed devices from overheating.
Cable management:
Make sure that cables are laid properly to avoid tripping hazards and damage.
Cleaning and maintenance:
Check the rails regularly for wear, damage or loose connections.
Assembly and disassembly:
The maximum weight of the rails must not be exceeded. Observe the manufacturer's weight specifications. Ensure that the racks are properly stabilised by extending the levelling feet and using the stabilising devices to prevent them from tipping over. Only pull one appliance out of the rack at a time to minimise the risk of instability. For heavy appliances, a suitable lifting tool should be used to avoid injury. Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of the rails specified by the manufacturer to prevent damage and accidents. Ensure that the rails are correctly aligned and securely fastened before equipment is installed. Keep hands and tools away from moving components such as fans or track mechanisms to avoid injury.
Handling:
Do not use rails and appliances as a storage surface or workstation.
Access protection:
Install racks in areas with restricted access to prevent unauthorised actions.
