VGA cables are used to transmit analogue video signals from a computer, notebook or other device to a screen or projector. Even though VGA (Video Graphics Array) is no longer the most modern technology, many monitors, PCs and notebooks still use this connection method. VGA cables are therefore often used to connect a PC or laptop to a monitor - this is particularly common with smaller screen sizes or older TFTs.
You may also want to connect your laptop to an older TV to view pictures or videos - if the hardware has a VGA connection, this can be done using a VGA cable. In the home office or office, two monitors are often an advantage - a so-called dual monitor setup can also be set up using, for example, a VGA connection and an alternative connection (e.g. HDMI) in order to make the best possible use of the available ports. If you want to buy a VGA cable, you should consider the approximate length you need.
