Temperature protection and ventilation:

Power supply units can generate heat during operation. Avoid prolonged skin contact to prevent burns. Ensure that the ventilation slots are not blocked to ensure cooling of the PSU and prevent overheating. Ensure sufficient distance from other devices to ensure good air circulation and protect the PSU from overheating. Do not block any ventilation slots to prevent overheating.

Cable management:

Lay the mains and power cables so that they are not damaged or trapped. Avoid tripping hazards.

Electrical safety:

Only connect the power supply unit to properly earthed sockets to avoid electric shocks and to ensure electrical safety. Only use power cables that have been approved or tested by the manufacturer and are suitable for the country of use. Do not connect any cables during thunderstorms and do not use the power supply unit to avoid damage. Do not use multiple sockets or extension cables that cannot bear the load of the power supply unit. Use models with overload protection. Do not exceed the specified load capacity of the PSU to avoid damage or overheating.

Cleaning and maintenance:

Disconnect the PSU from the power supply before carrying out maintenance work or replacing components. For redundant power supplies, ensure that all cables are disconnected to completely cut off the power supply. Regularly check cables and power supply units for damage or corrosion and replace damaged components immediately.

Assembly and disassembly:

Ensure that the power supply unit is securely mounted in the housing and is not loose to prevent damage from shocks.

Handling:

Always disconnect the power supply unit completely from the power source before installing, maintaining or replacing it to avoid electric shocks. Ensure that cables are not pinched or damaged and use strain reliefs to prevent cable breakage. After use or overload, power supply units should be allowed to cool down sufficiently before being used again.
