The HPE P408i-a SR is a powerful RAID controller designed specifically for HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers. Whether you want to use multiple hard drives simultaneously, secure your data or increase speed and distribute data across multiple drives, this 12G SAS RAID controller offers a powerful and flexible solution. Typical applications include virtualisation, databases, backup and file servers where fast, parallel and secure hard drive access is critical.
The controller has 8 internal data lines (supporting 8 internal SAS or SATA drives via 12G SAS) and supports a variety of different RAID levels. Thanks to mixed mode, RAID and HBA functionality can be used simultaneously – ideal for complex storage architectures. The 2GB DDR4 cache ensures accelerated write operations, optimised read performance through caching of frequently used data, protection against data loss in the event of a power failure and better load distribution.
