Buy servers and configure them online as required

Serverando Online-Shop Are you looking for an inexpensive and powerful server for your internal company IT? Then the Serverando shop is the right place for you: We offer you high-quality hardware from well-known manufacturers such as HPEDELL, Fujitsu, Supermicro or Lenovo at a low price. Our range includes not only Tower- and Rack-Serverbut also Blades, Microserver and server accessories, such as storage and network components. The advantage for you: These are reconditioned used goods - and they are many times cheaper than new goods

Cost-effective, secure, realisable, individually configurable and sustainable: these are the positive characteristics of refurbished hardware. Servers and IT equipment from the professional sector are designed for a very long service life, which in many cases is not utilised (e.g. due to time-limited leasing contracts or insolvencies). As with a car, the depreciation of IT hardware is highest in the first two years. However, you can cleverly avoid this if you opt for refurbished IT straight away. After two or four years, most devices are - contrary to what is often assumed - still state of the art and can also be optionally scaled up if the installed RAM, processor or hard drive capacity is not sufficient.

This is another advantage that speaks in favour of used goods: the devices can be individually and precisely expanded to meet the customer's requirements. Upgrades are not only more readily available on the market, but also considerably cheaper. You don't have to wait long for your customised server, because unlike with new products, we have all the parts specified as compatible in stock and can upgrade your desired device and deliver it to you at lightning speed.

There are hardly any arguments against used hardware. We also cannot necessarily confirm the statement that new devices are more fail-safe. This is because production errors can be ruled out by the fact that the goods have already been used reliably. In addition, every server and every spare part is tested for functionality - which is also not possible with new goods.

Broad product portfolio of servers from well-known manufacturers

Server SpeichermoduleOur product range includes both servers and server componentsstorage systems - and network devices and increasingly also office devices such as PCs, workstations, notebooks and monitors. Companies in particular should not skimp on the quality of their hardware when setting up their IT landscape. However, new high-end server and network components are often a costly endeavour and not even feasible for small and medium-sized companies. This is where it pays to rely on used IT hardware.

Our servers are as good as new and state of the art - but considerably cheaper than new. In our broad product portfolio you will find rack servers, tower servers and micro servers of outstanding quality and from well-known manufacturers. We also have node servers or blades (with matching blade chassis) available.

Our most popular product ranges are the HP ProLiant (especially the DL380 Gen9 / Gen10 and DL360 Gen9 and Gen10 models), the DELL PowerEdge R730/R740 and the R630/R640 series, as well as the Fujitsu RX2540 series. In addition to x86-based servers, we also stock Unix machines from HP or IBM/Lenovo.

With our server configurator, you can put together your dream server exactly according to your requirements - and it's child's play to do so directly online. Our technicians will install the components directly for you. A function test is carried out before despatch. This means you can not only be sure that you will receive a perfectly functioning device, but also that your desired configuration is technically feasible.

To complete your IT landscape, you also have the opportunity to purchase other important hardware components from us, such as server cabintes, storage systems and components, network devices and accessories. All in top quality and at a low price. Of course, we also offer spare parts and server parts. If your existing device has a defect, you do not have to replace the entire server, but only individual components. This is not only more cost-effective for you, but also more sustainable for the environment.

Servers for SMEs - does that make sense?

The use of a server can also be a great relief for SMEs in the network. Data can be shared more quickly and applications that run on it can be accelerated (e.g. merchandise management system, online shop). SMEs can definitely benefit from the use of a server. A server can be used, for example, as a central storage and administration unit, for customer databases, e-mail communication or for greater data security. Companies should therefore consider in advance which functions the large computer should have in the network.

Depending on the area of application, the server also has a specific title. For example, there are file, mail, domain or print servers. Storage servers serve as data storage, as they can be equipped with numerous hard drives. Data can be managed securely and easily and backups can also be set up.

Advantages of your own server

Central storage
All important documents, records, files and images are stored in one central location. End devices (e.g. notebook or PC) are therefore less overloaded and data can be found more quickly and easily.

Flexible access
Data does not have to be sent back and forth from one employee to another, as every (authorised) employee has access to it - even from outside (e.g. in the home office) via a secure VPN tunnel.

Helps to increase productivity
More efficient data exchange not only increases the productivity of your team. When bottlenecks occur due to demanding and computing-intensive applications, a server creates more efficiency with its performance, power and security. Certain processes can also be automated and reduce the workload of your employees.

Less congestion
Servers can be used for specific areas, so you can, for example, run email communication separately from a database or print server. As there are fewer simultaneous requests, the systems are also less overloaded.

More freedom
Which operating system should be installed, which services should run on the respective servers or which applications should be located on them - unlike with a provider, with your own server you are free to decide how you want to configure and use the devices.

Reliability
Servers offer a high level of redundancy and security - redundant fans and power supply units ensure reliability, as do hot-pluggable hard drives. If an HDD is defective, it can be replaced directly without having to shut down the server.

Data security
One of the most important points in favour of having your own server is data security. Firstly, you can assign access rights to certain files so that they can only be opened by authorised employees, and secondly, a server protects against data loss. If an end device (local employee PC) fails or is hacked, the data is usually lost - unlike with a server, where the data remains saved even if the PC in question fails.

Your own backup
A classic method of creating backup copies is the 3-2-1 rule. This backup strategy means that three copies are made of each file that is to be backed up. Two of these copies are backed up on at least two different storage media in-house, one of which is stored externally in a cloud. This can be realised using in-house servers and is a proven and secure solution, especially for SMEs.

perfect scalable
Servers grow with your company. With a PC, notebook or workstation, the capacity limits are often reached very quickly, and they also offer little to no redundancy and therefore no reliability. You can start by equipping your server with an inexpensive basic configuration with a small amount of RAM, hard drives and a CPU. As soon as this is no longer sufficient, you can expand your system quickly and easily. Equip your IT landscape with used hardware that meets your needs and is cost-effective.

Focus on sustainability and do good: with used hardware

Many companies are already strongly positioned to reduce their carbon footprint. However, the measures often require major changes, which means a certain amount of effort and therefore costs for the company. The situation is completely different if you opt for remanufactured hardware: Not only is it considerably cheaper than new goods, but by purchasing it you are also making a valuable contribution to protecting our environment.

It is often forgotten that the production of a server or PC has an enormous impact on the environment. Not only are rare and valuable resources used for the up to 2000 individual parts that make up a computer, but the parts are also shipped countless thousands of kilometres across the globe for final assembly. This produces dangerous greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

What's more, most appliances are sold by large companies well before their "minimum service life", resulting not only in an extreme waste of raw materials, but also in vast quantities of electronic waste that is difficult to recycle.

If you opt for so-called „Green IT“, the raw materials used have a longer service life and therefore fewer resources have to be extracted and wasted. Both you and our environment benefit from used hardware. So act sustainably and think of our future generations.

Refurbishing in our ETA-C - how does it work?

ETA-C TestcenterHow do we turn old IT into green IT? As soon as the devices arrive at our site, they are sent to our in-house technical centre in Regenstauf near Regensburg. Its name „ETA-C“ is the abbreviation for „Erase Test Audit Centre“, because this is exactly the process the used hardware goes through:

ERASE – Data wiping
All storage media are certified, audit-proof and BSI-compliant erased. The customer determines which erasure standard is used and the number of overwrite operations. Data carriers for which erasure is not possible or economical are mechanically destroyed and disposed of professionally. Alternatively, data deletion on site would also be possible.

TEST – Inspection for optical and technical defects
All devices are subjected to precise tests for technical and visual defects. Defective or missing components (such as panels or stands) are recorded in the subsequent technical report.

AUDIT – Traceable reporting
The target/actual comparison is carried out on the basis of the customer's offer – an inventory, i.e. the comparison of the serial numbers with the customer inventory numbers, can also be carried out. Our reporting is always visible, understandable and comprehensible for you.

The final step is the reconditioning of the hardware for sale. Devices are standardised or upgraded in order to be able to offer future customers high-quality, high-performance products that meet their exact requirements.

Buying a server - what aspects should you pay attention to?

Focusing on sustainability is an important point, but there is a lot more to consider when buying a server than when buying a PC. The following aspects should be considered:

  • Design & Volume
At which location should the device be used? If the device is to be used directly in the office, an office server or low-noise MicroServer is essential, as otherwise the noise level will be too high. If the server is used at an external location or branch office in a separate area, a tower device can also be useful, as it can be set up in a space-saving manner. A rack or blade server is best suited for use in a data centre (depending on requirements), as these can be practically and easily mounted in a rack cabinet.
  • Configuration
    • How much RAM is required and what is the maximum amount that can be installed?
    • Which and how many CPUs should the server contain?
    • Are there 2.5“ (SFF) or 3.5“ (LFF) hard drives that can be installed in the system? Is the capacity of the included hard drives sufficient or do I need an HDD upgrade? Do I have the option of installing SSDs or NVMes?
    • How many and which interfaces does the device have? How many PCIe slots are available and which ones (full profile / low profile)? Are network cards, HBAs or a RAID controller required?
  • (Growing) requirements
Think future-orientated and pay attention to the scalability of the server. If your company grows, you can expand your system quickly and easily without major costs and effort.

  • Applications and users
The number of users is just as important as the approximate applications that are to run on it on a daily basis. It is best to seek advice on this from your IT manager or an IT system house.

  • Power consumption
Make sure that the server has energy-efficient power supply units that keep power consumption low.

  • Service
Do you want to protect yourself in the event of a defect and get help quickly and easily? We offer you optional warranty extensions of up to 5 years. You decide which type of service you prefer. You can choose between the „Next Business Day Service“, where a technician comes to you on the next working day to replace or repair the defective device, the „ 24/7 Service“ where you receive a solution to your problem around the clock (with a 4-hour response time) or the „PickUp and Return“ service. The latter is a very convenient option, as the server is picked up, repaired and returned to you in working order.
